#CelebrateWomen’sHistoryMonth with Dr. Dorothy I. Height(1912-2010)

posted in: Blog 0

It has always been my belief, if we don’t know where we came from, how can we possibly know who we are and where we are going. Dr. Height knew the importance of our history and how vital it is to document our African American oral history for future generations. Watch this video to see her tell her story and the story of the National Council Of Negro Women and why it is so important to know your history. I was so blessed to have her unwavering support of the Twin Resolutions I successfully put forth in the US Congress recognizing the African American Spiritual as a National Treasure, and the great privilege and honor of calling her a dear friend. I will always treasure our conversations. She will always be an American Hero to me.
